Tolland Lawn Care in the Summer

Tolland Lawn Care in the Summer

3 things you should do right now to keep your lawn green

    1. Apply grub control to stop grubs from eating the grass roots and killing your lawn. Grubs hatch out in late July and early August. If you applied a grub control product in April or May, you will need to apply grub control again in July or August.
    2. Have your soil tested to find out if your lawn needs lime. UCONN’s soil testing is what we use for the best information and advice.
    3. Plan on seeding bare areas or sections of your lawn that have weeds.

    • You will want to seed in late summer and early fall.
    • Slice seeding is an excellent technique for planting new grass seed into your lawn.
    • Make sure the grass seed has seed to soil contact.
    • Fertilize the new grass seed and water daily for best results.
