Tolland Lawn Care in the Summer
Tolland Lawn Care in the Summer
3 things you should do right now to keep your lawn green
-
1. Apply grub control to stop grubs from eating the grass roots and killing your lawn. Grubs hatch out in late July and early August. If you applied a grub control product in April or May, you will need to apply grub control again in July or August.
-
2. Have your soil tested to find out if your lawn needs lime. UCONN’s soil testing is what we use for the best information and advice.
-
3. Plan on seeding bare areas or sections of your lawn that have weeds.
- You will want to seed in late summer and early fall.
- Slice seeding is an excellent technique for planting new grass seed into your lawn.
- Make sure the grass seed has seed to soil contact.
- Fertilize the new grass seed and water daily for best results.
